birthday flight

january 15, 2014.

birthday day was a flight
through sparkle white
bluebird sky
and deep firey glow

far, far away from work.

profoundly deep sleep in.

scrumptious brekki.

vanilla malt for brekki-desert. (good way to start the day -- my new fave pre-ride desert).

6 hours of ride time in the sunshine, sunset, and moonshine.

all day glowing.

all day loving.

all day soaring.

mike showed me the grace and challenge of the 'great white track'.

i fed him chocolate along the way.

it worked.

we met the end of the day, in awe, humble and grateful, as the light distilled, staining the sky;
light infusion of a magnitude and depth i've never known.

we experienced a solid amount of "sunset glow energy crack". energy lit up on fire, powered us, moving swiftly, strongly.

until it was gone. then we slowed. and moved like whispers through the black and white deep space.

it all felt so especially charmed. and especially right.
ringing true.
thank you, my love. thank you for the beautiful day. thank you.

i could not have been more in love with this day if i tried.

winter ...

so far.
so good.

Mike graciously set me up with a snow pony.
Her name is Ninja Pony. Welcome to the stable, Ninja Pony. We're going to riot.

I'm learning to ride the Ninja Pony in all sorts of places and conditions. Soft snow. Hard packed snow. Sugar snow. New snow. Old snow. Night snow. Day snow. -15 degrees snow. +40 degrees snow.

Disco snow. Trail snow. Snowmobile snow. Road snow.

Fast snow. Slow snow. Bouncy snow. Smoove snow.

All of the snow has been white. ;)

And all of the Snow explorations have been with an open heart, an open mind, and an open spirit.

It's been lovely to experience snow again, not from a full day of heavy-hitting tele turns, but from long and short days -- both near and far -- with the Snow Pony and my beautiful guide.

It feels like winter is new again. New again in a way that has me revisiting the things I find familiar -- and as if they've been 'long-lost' -- with a refreshing new fire. A fire that does not melt snow -- but celebrates it.

Thank you ... for the fire, the pony, the openness, the patience, the motivation, for the chance to see the infinite diamond sparkles in snow as well as the sky and stars, for the reintroduction to a world I've been missing without even knowing it.

More winter to come -- when I get back from another Snow Pony adventure!

getting out and Being where it counts.

honoring the heart.

respecting the spirit.

attending to the details of breath and heart beat.

flowing with the life pulse ...

and letting the energy flow ...

The Soul Of A Place

it's important to me
to resonate

with the soul of a place.
a space. a time. a tone.

to get to the soul of a place,
you first have to be in it.

to Be close with it
you have to breathe it.

touch it.
explore it.

learn it.
know it.

become it. graceful. kind.

the earth of it.
the rocks of it.

the grain of it.

the blue of it
the sage

the gold

the rust

and amber of it.

listen to it speak. and hear what it has to say to you.

do your best to reflect the light of it,

inside and out

and then you can soar within the soul of a place.
